Can this be used to replace a convertible top rear glass?

Looked at the ribbon and it do not appear to be what I needed. I used the material in the tube about 1 year ago to replace rear window in Miata. Still appears to be holding fine Application went well but took two people.One to hold glass, one to apply goop. Cautions - it is VERY sticky - wear rubber gloves. I was not too successful in smoothing it out after applying it. Use care and it will look ok. You may do some experimenting first and look at some you tube video. I used the recommended primer on the glass

how can this be both round and 1/8 x 1/4"?

Difficult question to answer...I just looked at mine and it appears to be apprxly 1/4 inch "round" x 30 feet to start, but it is squished in many spots that appear to be apprxly 1/8 inch in depth and no longer "round"; it could be squished more or less depending on what you need.  Not sure this will help, but maybe!

How thick is it? I need a 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick by at least 1/2 wide and at least 20 feet long.

1/4" round, it gets wider if you press it flat. It is clearly labeled 1/4" by 15 feet . . so NOT 20 feet long.
