Does not fit, don’t waste your money
The threaded portion of this is far too small to accommodate the 1/4” rod. You will never get this product to actually latch around the rod. Poor design for the application, don’t waste your money.

Worked on my 2017 Ford F350 tailgate
Such a sad world we live in when plastic components are such an integral part of the operation of our trucks and equipment. This little plastic clip can and will break off inside your tailgate with you use it a lot, or slam it closed at all. Luckily Ford has provided an access panel on the inside of the gate to allow you to get it with a torx head bit and manually push the lever to release the gate should your awesome plastic clip break off.
