Wow this is quiet and moves a lot of air!
This is my second high end Panasonic fan. My first fan is now 7+ years old and has performed perfectly since it was installed. When my 20+ year old Broan fan started vibrating and getting louder and vacuuming it didn't help, I went back to Panasonic and purchased this FV-1115VQ1 when it was on a deep sale at Amazon (discounted $80+). I paid someone else to install it and it took him a while (he faithfully followed all of the instructions) so I can't comment on the installation but I'm extremely happy with the fan. This fan had a bigger footprint than the fan that was originally there but the installer used the provided template to cut the new larger hole in the ceiling and it went in without a hitch and seated perfectly against the drywall with no gaps that needed to be sealed. This fan is whisper quiet; you can barely hear it when it's on and this with it set to its default 130 CFM setting. It's so quiet that a real problem with this fan is that you'll forget to turn it off because you can't hear it unless the room is very quiet. With my earlier Panasonic fan, I wired up a switch that lit up red when it was on to remind my kids that it needed to be turned off and I might do the same with this one. As you can imagine, at 130 CFM it moves a lot of air and humidity is not a problem in the bathroom. I used 6" insulated flex duct from Home Depot to vent the fan and it works perfectly and I shouldn't have issues with condensation. If you've installed this and the fan isn't whisper quiet for you then you should look at your ductwork; is it 6" duct? Did you install it so the duct goes straight for a couple of feet before slowly curving towards its destination? If you install the duct correctly the fan should have very little pressure to fight against.

It's very quiet with good power
I bought this to replace another fan that wasn't giving me the power I needed - there was moisture on the bathroom ceiling after a shower, for example. Not only does this fan work better (no more moist ceiling) but it's really quiet. Like at first I wasn't sure it was actually working. It's not totally silent but sounds a little bit like what it sounds like when someone has the water running in the house and you can hear the water in the pipes. Installing it was easy, the hardest part was getting out the old fan.

It’s really quiet, I mean… SUPER QUIET.
This wasn’t as easy to install as I thought it was going to be. But that was mainly because I was working above a cabinet and had to lean in over a ladder to work. What I can tell you is that fan, of which I have set on the medium setting, is so so so so quiet, you really have to listen hard to even hear it, even in a quiet room. Be really careful with the edges of the mounting bracket, as well as the rest of the fan, they are really sharp. If you are on the fence about installing a remote fan versus one mounted in the ceiling, stop beating yourself up as to which is quieter. This is without a doubt the quietest fan I’ve ever installed.

Delay to start the fan, normal or not?
I just installed it one day. It is more quite than Panasonic previous model. However, I found it took few seconds delay to start the fan when turn it on. I am quite wondering it is normal or not? Additionally, the fan can work with normal on/off switch, but not Lutron countdown timer. My previous Panasonic fan connected to the same timer and it worked few years already. Anyway after a couple of trials, I am looking for other compatible countdown timers now because I don’t want to take more time to uninstall the fan to return

Truly whisper quiet
When Panasonic says whisper quiet ,there not exaturating! The fan motor on this is just that, whisper quiet while still producing plenty of air flow. The oversized grill cover is a nice design touch. Would highly recommend this specific model for spaces like master bathrooms or a bit larger. Panasonic checks all the boxes. Quality ,value and Installation wasn't awful. A true premium product that knows it's job description well.

Super quiet “Whisper Quiet “
This is a great exhaust fan, and so very quiet. The old one sounded like a jet plane in our bathroom. It was easy to install, no need to get in the attic. It’s designed to connect electrical and ductwork from below. Adjustable speed so you can adjust to your room size.

Quiet fan, but unreliable and zero customer service
Fan is much quieter than other fans, as promised. However, we've had recurring issues starting about a year in where the fan will randomly stop working (won't start up; will turn off halfway through being on, will start working again without changing anything, etc). We've tried everything from checking the electrical to trying different switches to ensuring the exhaust didn't have any blockages, and the only remaining reason is a faulty motherboard. This should be covered under their warranty but Panasonic hasn't responded to 3 emails and hasn't every connected a phone call to their support after several attempts at calling the warranty support line . Given the higher cost of this fan and number of reviews where people mentioned the same concerns, I would look at different fan options if you're considering this one. I will update the review if I'm able to get through to their warranty team and they address the issue.

Fabulous Fan: A+!
Wow, you get what you pay for-if you are lucky. This fan is a beauty.....speed shifts on its own for difficult ducts.....and does it quietly. Used it with a 4" duct run with 6" coming off it straight for the first 2ft before the bend.....and it worked better than advertised. Installation a breeze because this thing is well thought out and clearly designed by someone who has actually done the job before. Superbly engineered and built-dripping quality. Just buy it! Super value---I will never use another type.....this one is perfection.

Vraiment satisfait.

Best bathroom exhaust fan I have ever purchased. Remember that it is a DC motor and it doesn't start immediately. There is a ramp up time that takes a few seconds before you can hear the motor running. I have a small bathroom and put the setting to 150 cfm. Impressive Panasonic product that comes with a 6 year warranty on the DC motor.

Has a slight delay to start but does it move air! No more steamed up mirror after a hot shower. Very quiet while running. Would definitely buy again.

The fan is well constructed, and as others say it is very quiet. This being said it is a 6" exhaust, and does not contain an adapter to 5" or 4" exhaust contrary to what the instructions say. Also I have installed a few of these fans in the past, with the Flex-Z-Fast bracket which works well -- BUT -- for some reason in my installation this FV-115VQ1 fan body was easily 1/4" wider than the opening of the Flex-Z-Fast bracket. I had a heck of a time forcing this unit through the opening. I really couldn't have screwed this up as the fan was installed pretty much next to the stud -- so the opening size was fixed by the Flex-Z-Fast bracket (which was too small)
