Ultimate Movie Instrumental Solos: Clarinet (Book & CD) (Pop Instrumental Solo)

As a peri, this is an excellent book for a good grade 2+ standard pupil. Has a huge contents page and some great tunes for work on upper reg for clarinet. Flute one just started using with a pupil- has the same tunes in same keys (as far as I've seen) so good for mixed groups/junior orchestra. DRAWBACK...the playalong CD needs to be downloaded onto a computor/laptop then transferred to a memory stick! Ball ache!! Why they can't just put a normal CD in these books fails me. Therefore kids with no CD drive can't download! Tut!!

These are excellent books with very good MP3 backing and demo tracks. Don't be put off by the reviews saying the CD is blank. It is not! It's a data CD and contains folders with the audio tracks and PDF piano scores. It's easy to transfer the tracks to a computer where they can be converted to .WAV files if that's what you need to play the music on a CD player. The CD also contains a speed change programme if the music is too fast for you.

This is a fantastic book, if you like film music - it actually has 60 songs on it, including several different tracks from Star Wars, Harry Potter, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Wizard of Oz (not clear that there are this many songs from the current product description) so it's amazingly good value. The CD has a good quality demo track plus a backing track for each piece (i.e. 120 tracks.) My pupils from ABRSM Grade 2 to Grade 6 are enjoying these.

Book is great but CD doesn’t work which is VERY disappointing.

Bought the book for my daughter last Christmas (admittedly not from Amazon, but the shop has since closed). It was a bit too difficult for her and was shelved til the summer. The book DOES NOT COME WITH A CD! It has an online access code to download the music. I went to redeem in the summer and had to create an account. I downloaded all the music and a couple of the accompaniment pdfs of the songs she was interested in. I went back to download the rest and it is not possible because the code has already been redeemed. The website does not recognise the account which was created (still have the password saved in the system from the summer) for redeeming before and so it is not possible to access the pdfs or music. I had, rather foolishly, assumed that by creating an account I was creating long term access to the data. IF you do decide to buy this book, you need to download EVERYTHING at the same time. This is not mentioned anywhere on the book, nor on their website. 'Tis a bit of a scam!

Music ok but the CD was blank

This is a great book for intermediate clarinet players. It also comes with downloads for piano accompaniment and the CD. My son is a 9th grader and he really enjoys the selection of songs. Some are easy and some are a bit of a challenge, but overall a fun way to keep him practicing! We converted the CD to load into his Ipod.

Je suis enseignante de clarinette. Ce recueil est parfait pour des adolescents (et adultes) qui apprécient beaucoup les musiques de film ! Les morceaux se jouent dès la fin du 1er cycle (4 ans de pratique), il y a pour tous les goûts, certains morceaux sont des chefs-d'œuvre, c'est un régal de les jouer ! Un cd avec fichiers à mettre sur l'ordinateur est fourni (ce n'est pas un cd audio).

I have really enjoyed this compilation of movie songs on my Clarinet. It is fun to play things you hear in movies and to show off to my friends my skills.
