My granddaughter loves it! Review: Favorite Toy - We gave this to my daughter for her 1st birthday and she LOVED it. It was the perfect gift for her developmental stage. She favored it over all her other gifts (and other toys) and spent long sessions playing with it daily. She's 15 months now, and still loves playing with it. This is a great bang for your buck toy. The balls are just the right size for her hand, and loves those on their own (she has many balls, but favors these). She's always carrying them around the house. Pushing the balls through the holes is really fun to her. You have to push just a little to get them to go through, it's a good challenge, but it never frustrates her. She always claps when they go in. The xylophone tinkling as it rolls down is very satisfying. It's also fun on it's own to make music. Then the hammer option is another element that she thinks is fun. All these things help her develop her motor movements. It's a smart toy. It combines the Montessori ball drop, music, hammer, etc. Can't say enough great things about this toy. Quality is fabulous and it looks nice. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. (My mom's dog chewed up one of the balls, but we were able to order a replacement set that fit perfect from Hape.) ## Features - Pound the balls and they will drop on the xylophone, tinkling out a pleasant scale of notes - Pull out the xylophone and play a tune directly on the keys - Great fun exploring rhythm and melodies - Hape finishes are all non-toxic, child safe, and of the highest quality - For ages 12 months - 3 years ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00712O2D6 | | Age Range Description | 12+ Months | | Best Sellers Rank | #13,986 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) #17 in Hammering & Pounding Toys | | Brand Name | Hape | | Color | Yellow | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 18,521 Reviews | | Educational Objective | Motor skills | | Global Trade Identification Number | 06943478002340, 16943478002347 | | Included Components | A pounding toy | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Item Dimensions | 9.45 x 5.91 x 5.31 inches | | Item Type Name | Hape Pound & Tap Bench with Slide Out Xylophone | | Item Weight | 1.2 kg | | Manufacturer | Hape | | Manufacturer Part Number | HAP-E0305 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Warranted against manufacturer's defects | | Manufacturer recommended age | 12 months - 3 years | | Material Type | Wood, Water based paint, PA,Metal | | Model Number | E0305 | | Number of Batteries | 1 Unknown batteries required. | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Players | 1 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Power Source | Manual | | Set Name | Hape Pound & Tap Bench with Slide Out Xylophone | | Size | One Size | | Supported Battery Types | No batteries required | | Theme | Music | | UPC | 082899761552 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Images ![Hape Pound & Tap Bench with Slide Out Xylophone - Award Winning Durable Wooden Musical Pounding Toy for Toddlers - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71HkmCUbupL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Will the balls fit insdie the mouth of a 15 month old child?** A: Yes! My child put one of the balls in her mouth at 10 months. We had to take it away. Now we just let her play with the xylophone and hammer part. **Q: Where is this product made?** A: Under product description, China is listed as the country of origin. For the price, these are certainly not made in Switzerland. **Q: how can I purchase extra balls?** A: You can purchase a replacement set (Current price $10 (Prime) here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M04YTFG I actually found that the balls which fit my twin nephews' other ball drop toys fit this toy. I purchased these for them and they LOVE that they shake and add an extra dimension to the noise of this toy. The only drawback is that these don't have "green" and they are plastic. Currently they are $8 (Prime) for a set of extras. They do hold up very well though considering the twins fight over them constantly and bang them around with the hammer and any other toy they can find. I don't advise smashing them hard though and always supervise play. https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Activity-Balls-Replacements-Action/dp/B01JDZYXGY/ **Q: What are the balls made of - plastic? wood?** A: The balls are made of wood. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great toy! *by M***E on August 2, 2026* So fun!
